If you are searching for where to stay near Clearwater, St. Petersburg and Indian Rocks Beach, this is the guide we give guests. We have seven homes in five areas, and none of them are on Clearwater Beach or St. Pete Beach. We will tell you what that means for your days, and which area fits which kind of trip.

The five areas, honestly
Indian Rocks Beach: walk to the sand
Casa Blue Horizon is the one home you can walk to the beach from, on the Intracoastal side, with a heated saltwater pool, spa, game room, golf cart and e-bikes. It sleeps 10. Best for two families or a group of couples who want beach days without loading the car. The Indian Rocks Beach town, restaurants and Sand Key Park (12 minutes by car) are close, and Clearwater Beach is 17 minutes.
The tradeoffs: it does not allow pets, it is the farthest of our homes from the Tampa airport at 39 minutes, and it has only a few reviews so far. Read our golf cart guide for Indian Rocks Beach if that is part of your plan.
Seminole and Indian Shores: built for young kids
Indian Shores Family Oasis is 7 minutes from Madeira Beach’s Archibald Beach Park and 11 from John’s Pass Village. It has a park across the street, a gated heated pool, a game room and a kids’ playroom. Guests tell us about the beach toys, chairs and life jackets in the garage. It sleeps 10.
The tradeoffs: one full bath and one half bath, which suits a family better than ten adults. Indian Rocks Beach is 16 minutes away, and Clearwater Beach 28. Guests have said the price is good for what you get, but fit matters, so read the listing closely.
Northwest St. Petersburg: convenient, close to John’s Pass
The Salty Parrot is 6 minutes from Archibald Beach Park in Madeira Beach and 10 from John’s Pass Village. One guest wrote “3 minutes to Walmart/Publix and 5 min to the beach” (Mackenzie G., Sep 2026). It sleeps 10 with four bedrooms and three full baths, so each person can have their own room, and there is a pool table and a private pool.
The tradeoffs: the pool is not heated, so it suits warm months best. Indian Rocks Beach is 22 minutes and Clearwater Beach is 32. St. Pete Beach is farther south along the coast, so check the map for your dates.
Largo: waterfront space in the middle
Three waterfront homes on canals, creeks and a pond, with heated pools and space for 6 to 16 guests. Goodtimes Waterfront sleeps 16 and is 10 minutes from Indian Rocks Beach. On the Creek sleeps 10, is 19 minutes from Clearwater Beach and 13 from PIE. Tortuga Hideaway sleeps 6 and is 15 minutes from PIE. Largo suits people who want a dock, wildlife and a quiet street more than a beach walk.
The tradeoffs: you will drive to the sand every time, and the drive is 10 to 22 minutes to Indian Rocks Beach. If you want a group base see our large group vacation rentals page, and for the water side see waterfront rentals.
Pinellas Park: value and a central location
Hibiscus House sleeps 6 with a private pool that is not heated, a fire pit, yard games and beach gear in the garage. It is our most central address: 14 minutes to PIE, 23 to Tampa International and 18 to Central Avenue in St. Petersburg. It is also our lowest priced. The tradeoff is distance to the sand: 19 minutes to Madeira Beach, 26 to Indian Rocks Beach and 30 to Clearwater Beach.
Airport and grocery convenience
Airports. St. Pete-Clearwater (PIE) is closest to On the Creek (13 minutes), Hibiscus House (14) and Tortuga Hideaway (15). Tampa International (TPA) is closest to Hibiscus House (23), Tortuga Hideaway (24) and On the Creek (26). Casa Blue Horizon is 39 minutes from TPA, the longest of our homes. Groceries. We only have solid data for two areas. Guests report Publix and Walmart about 3 minutes from The Salty Parrot, and a Largo guest reported Publix and a pharmacy about 5 minutes from Goodtimes Waterfront (Elizabeth R., Jun 2024). For every other home, check the map or ask us before you arrive. We are happy to point you to the closest store.

- How much do you want to drive to the beach? Not at all: Casa Blue Horizon. Under 10 minutes: Indian Shores Family Oasis or The Salty Parrot. Ten to 25: Largo. Up to 30: Pinellas Park.
- How many of you are there? Six: Tortuga Hideaway or Hibiscus House. Ten: five of our homes. Sixteen: Goodtimes Waterfront only.
