Waterfront means different things around Pinellas County: a wide canal off the Intracoastal, a quiet creek, a pond, or a private dock you can fish from. Four of our homes are on the water, and three of them list a boat slip. This page explains what each waterfront is really like, what guests do there, what to ask before you bring a boat, and how to treat the wildlife and the water with care.

Choose the water that fits your trip
- Choose Goodtimes Waterfront if you have a big group and want a canal with a dock, a pool table and room to spread out. It sleeps 16 and is about 10 minutes from Indian Rocks Beach.
- Choose On the Creek if you want a quieter creek behind the backyard, a garage game room and our highest guest rating. It is not on the sand, so plan on a drive to the beach.
- Choose Casa Blue Horizon if you want water behind the house and the Gulf a short walk or golf cart ride away. It is new, so it has only a few reviews so far.
- Choose Tortuga Hideaway if you are a smaller group of up to 6 who wants calm pond views, a screened patio and a heated saltwater pool. It is new, with no guest reviews yet.
The water at each home
Goodtimes Waterfront, Largo
A canal off the Intracoastal Waterway with a dock. Guests have reported dolphins in the canal, manatees at night, and catfish and crabs from the dock. One guest docked a pontoon boat here, and another said a boat rental company could pick up at the dock. Honest limits: guests have mentioned canal side construction across the water, and any home on open water needs close supervision of young children, so ask us about safety features before you book.
On the Creek, Largo
A creek behind the backyard, with a dock. Guests have described fish jumping, manatees near the shore, dolphins and otters, and sunrise over the water. Rods are provided but basic, and one guest suggested bringing your own gear and nets. The creek is about 18 to 19 minutes from Indian Rocks Beach and Clearwater Beach.
Casa Blue Horizon, Indian Rocks Beach
Water on the back of the house with a dock, boat slip, kayaks and a paddle board, and an upstairs waterfront porch. The Gulf is four blocks away. Kayaks and the rest of the recreational gear come with rules: a $500 refundable security deposit, life jackets required on the water, golf cart drivers 25 and older with a license and proof of insurance, and e-bike riders 16 and older.
Tortuga Hideaway, Largo
A pond, not a boating waterway. Coffee on the screened patio, catch and release fishing with the poles provided, a heated saltwater pool and a park with pickleball paddles provided a short stroll away. There is no boat slip here.

Bringing a boat
A boat slip is not a guarantee that your boat fits. We do not publish dock dimensions on this page. Before you book, ask us about the slip at your home, and tell us your boat’s length and draft so we can confirm it works. Also ask about the trailer and truck: driveway parking is listed for up to 6 cars at Goodtimes, 4 at On the Creek and 5 at Casa Blue Horizon, and street or lawn parking is discouraged or not allowed at several homes.
If you tow a boat, the county runs public boat ramps, and Pinellas County lists 6 saltwater and 5 freshwater ramps with cashless pay stations (Visa, Mastercard and American Express). The county has announced its daily ramp rate changes on December 1, 2026, so check the county boat ramp page for the current rate. Rules on life jackets, boater education cards and operating a rented boat come from the state wildlife agency (FWC). We could not open FWC’s pages to confirm the details for this page, so please confirm current requirements directly with FWC before you go. Fishing from the dock or yard
Most people who fish Florida saltwater need a license, with exceptions. The exemption list published in the Florida regulations guide includes children under 16 and Florida residents 65 and older with proof, and residents can get a free shoreline license for fishing from shore or from structures reached on foot, though that does not cover fishing from a boat. Whether a private dock counts, what a license costs and what applies to freshwater on the pond are questions for FWC, so confirm with FWC before you fish and buy a license if you need one. We are not stating fees because we could not verify them on FWC’s own site.
Rods are provided at several homes but are basic, so bring your own gear if fishing is the point of your trip. Ask us which rules apply on your water. For a public catch and release option, Pinellas County lists fishing docks at Eagle Lake Park in Largo (1800 Keene Road, open 7 a.m. to sunset), where bank fishing is not allowed.
Wildlife etiquette
Guests at our waterfront homes have reported dolphins, manatees, otters, crabs and fish. We cannot promise a sighting. Nature keeps its own schedule, and every report is one guest’s week, not a guarantee.
- Never feed wild animals. NOAA Fisheries says it is illegal to feed or harass wild marine mammals, including dolphins and manatees, and violations can bring fines.
- Keep your distance. NOAA asks people to observe dolphins from at least 50 yards (150 feet) away.
- Do not swim with or touch them. NOAA notes wild dolphins are unpredictable and people have been bitten.
- Report a problem. NOAA’s enforcement hotline is (800) 853-1964. For an injured or distressed manatee, contact FWC.

Water safety at a waterfront home
- Supervise anyone near the dock or water at all times. Docks and open water need an adult close by for children, so ask us about safety features at Goodtimes before you book.
- Life jackets are required on the water at Casa Blue Horizon and are a good idea for anyone who is not a confident swimmer.
- Pets and water do not mix unsupervised. Casa Blue Horizon does not allow pets. Pets are welcome only at homes that say so, with an additional fee where listed, so read the rules for your home.

A waterfront day, start to finish
- Morning: coffee on the patio or porch, watch the water, and fish from the dock if your license situation is settled.
- Midday: Indian Rocks Beach. From Casa Blue Horizon it is a short walk or golf cart ride. From Goodtimes it is about 10 minutes by car. See the beaches page.
