Hibiscus House: Private Pool Retreat between St. Pete and the Beaches

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb home, and I can't recommend it enough for families looking for a fun and relaxing vacation! The house was clean and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen had all the essentials for family meals, and we loved gathering around the large dining table outside each evening. We especially enjoyed the backyard, which had plenty of space. There were board games, movies, and MANY outdoor toys that made our downtime at the house extra enjoyable. The beds were comfortable, and we all slept well after our adventure-filled days. The location was good—close to local attractions, parks, and shops, but very peaceful and private. The hosts were incredibly helpful and responsive, called twice to check to make sure our experience was five stars. Overall, this home made our family vacation truly special. We made lasting memories here and would absolutely recommend it to any family looking for a fun Florida stay!

This place is a true gem and even better hosts. I’ve stayed at a lot of airbnbs, but this host truly cares about you enjoying your stay. You can tell by all the little details they add to the home to make your stay special that other airbnbs do not. The little things truly add up. They allowed us to check in early too which was wonderful. My kids loved the yard games, but especially the pool. We spent hours swimming. There’s also just so much to do in the area. We went to the beach, Rays game, St. Pete Pier, and a few other places. The location felt safe. We would stay here again in a heartbeat if we are ever in the area.

Johans place was wonderful! We really enjoyed the backyard area, spent most of the time there. The kitchen was equipped with everything you may need, plus more, to feel right at home. Before checking in my family decided to stop at a store to get some beach toys for the kids, little did we know in the garage was everything we needed. From beach toys, chairs, umbrella to so many outside games to entertain every member of our family! The only thing that would make this place better would be a second bathroom lol but definitely wasn’t a dealbreaker for us! I would happily check for this listing again when we return to town.

This place simply wasn’t a good match for our style or what we were looking for. The host was very nice and we had absolutely no issues with him. Honestly, I picked the place without paying enough attention to all the details in the listing, so that was on me. If you read the description carefully, you will have a good idea of what to expect. Don’t get me wrong — just because it wasn’t the right place for us doesn’t mean it won’t be a great stay for someone else. Everyone has different preferences and expectations. Overall, the host was great; the property just wasn’t the right fit for our family.

The house was clean. It was nice to have beach supplies available to use when we went to the beach. The pool appeared to have a lot of debris in the deep end, I called and the owner sent someone over to clean it. Very responsive. Very easy check in. The backyard had everything you would need to hangout, have cookouts, play games, and enjoy the pool. Staying at this location gave us a chance to check out other locations so we will have a better plan of renting closer to beaches and eateries next year. Great opportunity for a family with kids with the desire to relax and hideaway from a busy life!

Johans place was exactly what we wanted for our family traveling from Ohio with a 2 year old and an 11 year old- close to the best beaches and attractions, the house itself was perfect- the back yard is private and the pool is fabulous, they have many back yard games to keep the family busy. And on July 4th each side of the street had a phenomenal private fireworks show which was awesome! Couldn’t beat the price for 5 days! We would recommend 10/10! ☀️🌴🧡 Thanks for being great hosts!

Overall, this has been one of the best Airbnb’s we’ve ever stayed at. At first, we weren’t too sure about the neighborhood, but the location ended up being very convenient. Inside was just perfect though . Everything was so well stocked, from an amazing selection of coffees, down to every single kitchen item you could imagine. The beds were very comfortable, and our kids loved all the games they had. If we are ever back in the Pinellas area, we would definitely stay here again.

this was a great option for us with kids as there was a pool in the backyard. the backyard is fenced, the kitchen was well supplied with dishes, cutlery, coffee, spices, etc. lots of beach toys, chairs, and life jackets which was handy as we were traveling from out of country. this property is close enough to beaches and tampa without being too expensive, making it a great option. we really enjoyed our time. the host was very friendly and responsive. 5 stars

This was my first vacation at an Airbnb. I was very pleased with how clean everything was. For the most part everything was exactly as described. The host was very attentive and helpful . Just a few changes would make it the perfect paradise! My family spent Sunday swimming, playing games & grilled out, it was a surprise and we had a blast! Thanks for hosting a family memory! My family of 5 enjoyed this house with its pool, stocked kitchen, and plenty of beach amenities. We visited St. Pete’s beach, Ft de Sodo, Treasure Island, Honeymoon Island and the Weeki Wachi. The house is located close to Publix, Walmart, and a Target. The beds were comfortable and having a washer and dryer was convenient. My kids enjoyed the pool and all the fun yard games. I highly recommend.

It was a great vacation home for our family of 5 to visit our local family members. It provided great entertainment for our 4, 6, and 8 year old sons with outside games and of course the pool. There was so much to do in the St. Pete area and this house was located in a very convenient area to see so much! We will be looking here first for our next stay in Florida.

It was convenient location for the things we wanted to do. We have stayed in several Airbnb‘s and I do believe for the price point. It could have been a little nicer nothing real bad. I know I could’ve contacted them, but I chose not to. We had a very few bath towels and washcloths, no dish towels and the skillet situation definitely needs updated.

We had a great stay. The whole backyard set up was amazing. Pool was perfect! Home was very clean and had everything we needed for our 4 days. Kitchen had more than expected for cooking. Plenty of seating and extra lawn chairs. Games were a nice touch, we enjoyed our time! Host quickly responds to anything you need. Would recommend!

Perfect place in Pinellas Park! Endless amounts of games and toys for the whole family. Pool was fantastic and super relaxing after a long day out. House was very clean and neatly decorated. House was also very kid friendly. Answered all of our questions quickly and provided very useful tips. Would absolutely stay here again.

We were down for a week for a softball tournament. The house was just as described! The area/street was quiet. Very close to stores/restaurants/coffee. I believe it took us 25 minutes to get to Madeira beach. Hosts were easily able to be reached. If we travel here in the future we would definitely stay again!

Very comfortable stay. My child enjoyed playing with the giant connect four and throwing stars. It was cold and rainy during our stay, but the heater worked great. Only downside was that this home has only one toilet. However we really enjoyed our one week stay here. Thanks Aval Experience!

We absolutely loved our stay. the hosts were informative for all local questions as we were visiting from out of state for a graduation. The pool is the best part though! we were there 8 days including a holiday and still saw the pool cleaner multiple times!

Place was everything, had everything we needed,very relaxing and spacious. Very well organized and we enjoyed our time, me and my family will definitely visit again for I do have family in the area! Pool was very nice, games was fun & we enjoyed every minute

Great spot to be near the beach and had a pool if you wanted to stay at the place. Tons of games to keep you occupied if you stayed. Had a pizza menu on near the fridge that came in handy for ordering pizza. Would definitely come back to stay here.

it was a beautiful home and it was well stocked with vacation essentials. I'm so appreciative toward the owner. and it's about 30 minutes from beaches and activities we were interested in so it was very convenient.

The place was very nice and was close to drive to everything we needed. Had a nice walk to the park near the place to play volleyball. The place was perfect for us and just right for our trip.

With 4 kids and 2 adults we definitely enjoyed the space. The kids loved having the pool to play in. The host were great and easy to communicate with.
