Pinellas County eats well. Fresh grouper, Florida lobster and other Gulf seafood are the headline, but you will also find Cuban food, ramen, farm-to-table cooking and rooftop sunsets. Every restaurant below was open when we last checked, and the drive times are from our homes. Menus, hours and reservations change, so call ahead or check the restaurant’s website.
Indian Rocks Beach

Central Avenue has one of the best restaurant streets in the Tampa Bay area. It is an easy evening out from our homes in St. Petersburg and Pinellas Park, and it pairs well with the shopping and nightlife guide.

Grouper is the local specialty. The Original Crabby Bill's and Guppy's on the Beach in Indian Rocks Beach, Frenchy's Rockaway Grill in Clearwater Beach and The Hurricane in Pass-a-Grille all serve it.
The Hurricane's rooftop bar in Pass-a-Grille has a 360-degree sunset view, and many restaurants along the Gulf beaches face west.
